ZenBook 13 UX325 review part 2 – battery life

At the same time, the ZenBook 13’s battery deserves special acknowledgment. In spite of the fact that ASUS promises between 16 to 22 hours of battery life, the test unit on lower battery settings ran between 14 to 17 hours of daily use.

During its PCMark 10 Battery Life test, it did a respectable 9 hours and 40 minutes. This means that it can last an entire day between charges that don’t take extremely long. The battery usually takes barely an hour to completely charge. Using the standard TechRadar film test of circling neighborhood 1080p video, the ZenBook 13 conveyed 11 hours and 56 minutes. That is sufficient battery power for a departure from LAX to Heathrow with juice to spare.

Two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on the left side also serve as charging ports for the ZenBook 13 UX325. Lamentably, this means there isn’t a lot of decision on what side to plug for those specific about positioning. They sit directly close to a standard HDMI 2.0 port for those hoping to show a presentation or watch a film document on a bigger screen. The right-side features one standard USB 3.2 port and MicroSD Reader. A USB C to USB 3.2 connector is also included.

Because of the absence of an earphone jack, Asus does incorporate a USB C to 3.5mm headset connector which could be an issue. Twin Harman Kardon affirmed speakers are a critical option in contrast to using headphones. Films, music and voice sound rich, unmistakable and give outstanding bass when required.

Asus refines the latest in its ZenBook ultrabook line with a lighter yet sturdy casing design, dependable battery and more at a moderate cost tag. For general use, the ZenBook 13 works wonders for low level tasks. Long composing sessions may feel awkward because of the off-kilter console spacing and ErgoLift design. Anything past that may require something a bit more impressive. Performance aside, not having an earphone jack could be a sign of things to come. At this moment, it feels sacrilegious. Still, the Asus ZenBook 13 might be best for anybody needing an inexpensive Windows PC that can take a punishment.
